  history
You're born in a creative household, then what do you do? Acting was never a thing Gregory wanted to do but to write and become a novelist? It was his top choice after finding a Stephen King book lying around the house. He enjoyed the feeling of getting spooked and he wanted to hold that sort of power over people, beginning to write his own stories when he was too young to form a proper plot. Acting became a hobby when he joined the drama club because it sounded easier to get some school credits than debate. He was never the leading man and while his future life as a novelist kept being his focus, drama sort of became its very own thing that was more than just standing in the right spot and remembering a bunch of lines with a perfect delivery.

His drama teacher believed he had talent but he was still not that invested. At least not until he joined college, going to Boston to study literature and creative writing is where things switched. A bit disappointed with the curriculum (or how pretentious everyone seemed to be), acting kinda became his main drive and where he found comfort. He still wrote stories but it became more of a pastime and by the time his first year came to an end he had made a major decision: to study drama and move to New York City to, maybe, hopefully, make it as an actor. His family felt that this was a big gamble but still gave him his support with a backup plan to come back home if everything failed.

Many fellow students chased auditions but Gregory was focused on learning, working small jobs, and being an extra on whatever was shooting in Manhattan to pay his bills and not become a starving artist. Upon graduation, he had done a few shorts and had decided to give himself a few years: a diploma in acting doesn't guarantee success or a living wage. Luck or talent, maybe both, made him one of those actors who manage to actually make a living from roles, alternating between television, movies, and some stage performances. Even if the horror genre was where he was seeking most roles, it was the hit satirical dramedy show Succession that brought him fame and really opened the door to more opportunities, eventually making him cross path with Mike Flanagan, someone who would become not only his favorite person to work with but also a close friend.
